How do I purchase tickets? Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online.

Can I buy tickets at the door? Yes! Tickets are available at the door as long as seats remain. However, we strongly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance for our Spring productions.

Do I need to print my tickets? No, a will-call list is available at the box office.

Are tickets refundable or exchangeable? Yes, exchanges can be made by emailing shows@selfexpress.org.in.

Are there discounts for children, seniors, military, or groups? As a nonprofit organization, we strive to keep our ticket prices as affordable as possible, charging only what is necessary to cover our production expenses. To help make theatre even more accessible, we also offer a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more.

What happens if the show is sold out? Legend has it that if a show sells out, our Marketing Director considers her job complete and will retire.
Before the Show

How early should I arrive? If you require accessible seating, we recommend purchasing your tickets in advance or arriving at least 30 minutes before the performance to ensure we can best accommodate your needs. For all guests, we suggest arriving early enough to purchase concessions and tickets or pick up Will Call tickets.

How long is the performance? Is late seating allowed? Yes. Late seating is available; however, seating after the performance begins is accessible only by stairs. To ensure the best seating options and avoid disruptions, we recommend arriving before the show starts.

Can I take photos or videos? No.

May I use my phone during the performance? No.

Are food and drinks allowed inside the theater? Yes, we sell drinks, popcorn, candy, and limited hot items. No outside food is allowed. Your own lidded, non-alcoholic beverage is permissible.

Can I leave and re-enter the auditorium? Yes. However, once the performance has begun, all audience members entering or exiting the theatre will use the stairs. If you require step-free access, we recommend arriving before the show begins so you can be seated before the performance starts.
Family-Friendly Questions

Is this show appropriate for young children? The 2026-2027 "A Season of Fables and Fairytales", is designed to be a very family-friendly season! However, we do recommend considering your child's age and attention span when selecting a performance. While our stories are appropriate for families, non-musical plays can sometimes be more challenging for younger children to stay engaged compared to productions with music and movement.

Will there be loud noises, flashing lights, fog, or special effects?

How long has the cast been rehearsing? Most productions have approximately a 6-week rehearsal period from auditions to opening night.

From our self-painted parking stripes to our creative use of hand-me-downs, we embrace the heart and resourcefulness of community theatre while bringing a professional level of dedication, creativity, and passion to every production. Our stage is filled with talented local performers, artists, and volunteers who come together to create memorable experiences for our audiences.

Is wheelchair seating available? Yes! We offer wheelchair-accessible seating options for our guests. Thanks to a generous grant from Innovate Alabama, our facility also features button-activated doors to help improve accessibility and make your visit more comfortable. If you require accessible seating, we recommend pre-purchasing your tickets or arriving at least 30 minutes early, so our team can best assist you.
